Richard Mayer has been one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most sought after photographers for over thirty years. His trademark is his sophisticated use of light and artistic composition.
He photographs events , corporate, b'nai mitzvahs, weddings, as well as family portraiture, and
has been recommended by Westin Hotels, Ritz Carlton, Fairmont, Sir Francis Drake as well as other venues and vendors who hold his work in high regard.
His photography has been displayed at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, SF Jazz Gallery, Rayco Gallery, and the SFMOMA Artist gallery where he has sold his fine art work on Alcatraz.
Richard has taught classes for the Professional Photography of the Greater Bay Area as well as at the Palace hotel for the National Association of Catering
Richard is a volunteer for the Alcatraz Night Tour and has photographed many events on the Island such as a former guard's wedding, Alumni day events and the Indian Occupation Reunions.
His slideshow program on the history of Alcatraz Island has been presented at the San Mateo Main Library.
